Commission Your Custom Surfboard


Commission a custom piece of art by Wade Koniakowsky and participate in a unique process in which you personally collaborate with the artist.

Here is how the process works:

1.)   INITIAL CONSULTATION - Upon receipt of your order, Wade will call you. This is a discussion between the client and the artist about the commissioned art piece. The size, whether it will be displayed horizontally or vertically, subject matter, color palette, etc will be addressed. One of the most important aspects of this meeting is referencing existing art by the artist. This is key because the best results for commissioned art come by keeping the artist working within his usual themes of color, subject and style.

2.)   TIMELINE- TBD with client- generally the artist will need 6-8 weeks for most commissioned pieces. Currently in Fall of 2021 the fiberglass surfboards are taking 8-12 weeks because of unusually high demand of surfboards in the surfboard industry.

3.)   DIGITAL SKETCH - a sketch will be provided by the artist and approved by the client. The artist may also upon request, provide a mock-up showing how the art fits into the clients space- photos of client’s space must be provided by the client.

4.)   CHANGES – The client will be shown a photo of the work in progress at about 85 -90% complete, and will have the opportunity at this time to request minor adjustments.  If the client requires changes to the piece that exceed 1.5 hours, there is an additional fee billed at a rate of $100/hr.



Additional Shipping Charges will be determined by the destination. Estimated cost is $300 - $500.
