Wade has hosted workshops all over the world, in order to truly inspire the artist within everyone. Texas Workshop

April 26th, 2026, 11-3pm

Wade will be hosting a special wave painting workshop at the Texas Surf Museum.

In this hands-on workshop, Wade will share the techniques and principles he has developed over decades of painting the ocean. Participants will learn about the mechanics of waves, how light interacts with water, and the essential elements that make a compelling wave painting.

Wade will also cover color temperature, brush techniques, and the details that bring a wave to life—including froth lines and moving water.

Throughout the workshop, Wade will paint alongside participants step by step using provided reference material.

Morro Bay 2- Day Workshop

June 11-12, 2026 1-4pm

Join Wade Koniakowsky and Colleen Gnos for a two-day painting workshop set along the stunning Central Coast of Morro Bay, California.

This workshop is designed for beginning to intermediate artists who want to explore the beauty, movement, and atmosphere of the ocean through wave painting and seascapes.

Day one will focus on the art of waves, with Wade guiding participants through the mechanics of waves, how light interacts with water, and the essential elements that bring a wave painting to life.

On day two, participants will create a full seascape inspired by local Morro Bay reference, incorporating the unique atmosphere and nautical character of California’s Central Coast.
