Wade Koniakowsky will be creating a painting, live, to be auctioned to benefit Stand Up for the Cure, Saturday, April 20th, 6pm, at the California Surf Museum in Oceanside.  This fantastic event is hosted by SUP Chicks.  Come out, support a great cause and win a work of art!

Koniakowsky selected as official event artist for the prestigious Molokai To Oahu Paddleboard World Championships (2013). Infused with the traditions and culture of Hawaii, the race annually crowns world champions in the two disciplines of traditional (prone) and stand-up (SUP) paddleboarding. The fastest athletes complete the crossing of the Ka’iwi Channel in less than five hours. Koniakowsky will create the art which will used to brand the event on posters, apparel, website, video and advertising.

For the second consecutive year, Wade Koniakowsky has been chosen as the official event artist the 12th annual Duke's OceanFest in Waikiki. Duke's OceanFest is held each summer in Waikiki in honor of Hawaiian Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, who is remembered as the greatest waterman who ever lived, and Hawaii’s ambassador of Aloha. The 8-day event features a variety of ocean sports that were close to Duke's heart.  Koniakowsky has created a portrait of Duke that will be used on all branding for the event and will be on hand to display his art at the event.

HOLIDAY PARTY AND MINIATURE SHOW - This Saturday, December 1st, 5-8 pm, at Koniakowsky Ocean Art, 312 S. Cedros Ave., Solana Beach, CA 92075.  Great art comes in all sizes ~ and in the spirit of the season and gift giving, we will be exhibiting incredible pieces, some that might fit in a stocking.  

Wade will be showcasing his work October 13 & 14, 2012 at the San Diego Ukulele Festival .  The Ukulele has had a major re-insurgence in the music community in the last few years. It is a simple instrument that has the ability to touch and uplift many.  It's rich history is rooted in the Hawaiian culture.  Although today's artists play it covering everything from Beethoven to Zeppelin.

The San Diego Ukulele Festival will be held at the Port Pavilion on the Broadway Pier in downtown San Diego.  At this year’s festival guests can catch performances by amazing artists, participate in Ukulele workshops, eat great food, and peruse different retail vendors.
The 2012 line up includes Brian Vasquez & Lava Jam, Derick Sebastion, Ukulele Bartt Warburton, Brittni Paiva, Taimane Gardner, Julia Nunes, Danielle Ate the Sandwich, Kalama Brothers, Willie K, Aldrine Guerrero and many more!

Open the Aaron Chang Ocean Art Gallery to Great Acclaim

SOLANA BEACH, CA—Award-winning photographer, Aaron Chang has partnered with distinguished artist, Wade Koniakowsky to launch the Aaron Chang Ocean Art Gallery. More than 450 guests attended the Grand Opening on July 10th at 415 South Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach.  

"The grand opening was all we wanted it to be,” says Gallery Co-Owner Wade Koniakowsky. “We were stoked to share our vision for a Gallery that pays tribute to the ocean."

Ocean Art meets the NFL - Wade has just completed an installation of 24 pieces of art in the personal training facility of Troy Polamalu of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Super Bowl Champion used the art to create a polynesian sanctuary for his off-season training. The installation included 3 commissioned oil paintings, up to 4x8 feet,  along with prints and several painted surfboards. The art is a tribute to Polamalu's Samoa heritage.

Koniakowsky selected as featured artist for San Diego Art Walk - Join Wade April 24 and 25 for the San Diego art walk in Little Italy. This is the largest anual art event in San Diego. Wade will be among the 15 featured artists at the show and will be showing new works for sale.

Surf Story Project, the epic 444 page masterpiece of surfing history and art is now in circulation due to the relentless passion of author and visionary Robb Havassy. The  coffee table book is now being distributed in fine book stores worldwide and contains 4 spreads of wavescape paintings by Wade Koniakowsky set to the text of renowned surf author Chris Ahrens.

Wyland Gallery in Haleiwa hosts a Surf Art Show featuring Wade Koniakowsky along with several other renowned artists.  Haleiwa, Hawaii, December 5 & 6, 2009. This show coincides with the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing at Sunset Beach.

Brewer and Koniakowsky will present 7 new boards, shaped by Brewer with art by Koniakowsky. The boards represent decades of craft and dedication to the sport of surfing and the ocean lifestyle. They will be for sale. Wade will be do a painting demonstration at the show. A special brithday reception for Brewer, who is turning 73 will take place the evening of October 3 at Koniakowsky's Ocean Art Gallery in Solana Beach.
